Manufacturers

There are a number of ways that manufacturers can take advantage of the features and open systems design that Inprem Studio offers. For example, both DevTime and RunTime can be leveraged (with minor, major or no modifications) to make your devices more attractive to your customers as a design component, and improve how they work in conjunction with other devices.

Using Inprem Server as middleware, you can add almost any type of behavior or built-in command capability as a new meta-level that simplifies the API you present to programmers and integrators who work with your products. As an OEM, you could also work with CIWare Labs engineers to embed special functionality into our core system.

A few more ideas to consider:

Build a specialized, friendly configurator that replaces our standard DevTime UI with an entirely different one that's more suitable to your customers.

Build a product that provides Test capability for any device in your library, which would be built on Server's built in device management system, and RunTime programming language iAL. (this would be a cool project!)

Consolidate collections of related devices, by building DevTime and RunTime functionality that configures them to function in groups.

To put it mildly, we love manufacturers, and have a lot of experience in that world that we’d like to put to use on your behalf.

We are a pure software company and look to our partners first when it comes to hardware. In the software arena we are no stranger to radical thinking. Interested in software to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your lightsabers?  uh, sorry, we don’t have that one yet… but check back!

Case Study: Global Caché

Our partner and mentor in the CEDIA and InfoComm markets, Global Caché, provides what we think is a great example of mutual benefit in a business and technical relationship. We hold special affinity for Global Caché not just because we relate to the design quality and performance of their products, but because they literally helped us get started!

First, we became aware of and ultimately impressed with Global Caché’s robust, reliable set of network adapters in mid-2018 after we used them ourselves in real applications. Inspired, we approached the founders with an idea to create a comprehensive software toolset, designed specifically to enhance the basic workflows associated with using the GC network adapters. We also took a new product concept to them, for integrating garden variety IR remotes into affordable control systems, which would be built around use of their Raspberry Pi equipped Connect product. We shook on it, and went off to work on our respective parts, which came together as new set of offerings announced at CEDIA Expo 2019:

  • Global Caché long distance IR receiver
  • Inprem Studio, with LAIR™ intelligent IR processing.

This product development partnership has resulted in a new method for expanding the usefulness of IR remotes, by enabling any IR command to be a trigger for any function in the control universe. As a result, there are new applications for our software and their hardware.
